1. Sloomoo Institute in Atlanta
Thanks Cindy for reminding me I've seen this place everytime I'm driving past Lenox and I take a mental note that I should take my kids here. I always think to myself, umm No. NO SLIME in my house. For the first time EVER we got our entire home designed by of course.. my Boss Maria Dominguez at Maison Maluee and can I just say, I've never been the same. However, call me vain but there is NO SLIME allowed in this house. That is for outdoors only or school. So graciously, parents who may gift us slime, just know it will be an outside event. Which now that I think of it.. a boys Clubhouse event. (I am always thinking of ways we can use that space). The point is, this Saturday I'm taking them to the Slime Museum Sloomoo.
The Rock Calhoun, GA
I've never been and just saw an Instagram story on this and it seemed cool and fun. There are these rock castles all around what seems to be a trail and it seems like something I can take the boys to on a nice weathered day and have a picnic. (which I've never done before) This place is an hour drive so this is a good idea for a full day event.
Kennesaw Mountain
This is another good option that could be done in a day or a half day event as its not far probably about 30 minutes away. This is a place I'd love to take the boys and my neices and nephew to go with. Do a fun hike, take some fun pics at the mountain and work our way back down. This would be after a good breakfast and some waterbottles to take! I would be curious to see how long we would make it before them asking to be carried which I don't think I can do anymore because they are getting BIG.
St. Simons, GA
I am born and raised in Georgia and have never been to St. Simons and I must say this is a place I've always been curious to explore. Now considering it is 4 hours and 30 min away, I would definitely need a couple of add ons. Knowing me and my kids age I would add on a nanny, and/or husband. This is great for a long weekend when there is No School on Monday. Hmm.. I gotta plan this one this Summer while school is out or early Fall like Labor Day or something.
Jekyll Island, GA
Ok St. Simons, this is a place I've wanted to visit for a while. When I was in Elementary School at Pleasantdale Elementary, the fifth graders got to go on a school trip to Jekyll Island and it was something I looked forward to now guess what happened 5th grade year....
WE MOVED. Boo. so this is on my Georgia Bucket List as an adult with boys. Find me there Summer 2025.
